Brandon performs extensive reconstructive surgery procedures for melanoma, and head and neck cancer. In the cosmetic surgery realm, he has a focus on face and body procedures. Having worked as the Head and Neck Reconstruction and Microsurgery Fellow at the Princess Alexandra Hospital in Brisbane, Australia, he gained extensive experience in facial and head and neck reconstruction and microsurgery. During this time, Brandon frequently performed combined procedures with other plastic surgeons (orthopaedic, general, vascular, ENT, maxillofacial, neurosurgery) to find reconstructive solutions to the most complex surgical problems in Australia's busiest elective surgery hospital. Having completed his full Plastic and Reconstructive surgery training in New Zealand Brandon was awarded FRACS(Plastics) from the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons. In 2012, he was awarded the ASAPS Advanced Aesthetic Fellowship and undertook a fellowship (apprenticeship) in Cosmetic Surgery at the prestigious New Zealand Institute of Plastic and Cosmetic Surgery. He frequently speaks at academic conferences and during his academic career has been awarded many prizes including The John Corboy Medal, The Deans Prize, the NZMSA Leadership Award, Distinction in Surgery from the University of Otago, the Dawn Short prize in psychiatry, the senior prize in physiology, and the senior prize in biomedical science.
