Otolaryngologist (Ear, Nose and Throat) consultant at Tauranga and Whakatane Public Hospitals, Grace Hospital, and at outreach centres in Kawerau and Opotiki.

Dinaz is an Ear, Nose and Throat (ENT) consultant with a special interest in Paediatric ENT, Otology & Rhinology, with experience spanning three continents over nearly three decades. She offers the intracapsular tonsillectomy alternative procedure for small children, a new technique with less pain and quicker healing times. She also specialises in ear surgery with reconstruction and ossiculoplasty for better hearing and laser surgery for otosclerosis.

After completing medical school in Mumbai, India, in 1995 Dinaz worked in teaching hospitals in Mumbai as Associate Professor in ENT. She also spent time in both Paris and Germany under esteemed tutelage learning specialised otology skills.

In 2004, Dinaz moved to New Zealand, working in Auckland first before moving to Tauranga in 2008. She was Clinical Director of the ENT department at Tauranga Hospital from 2018 until 2022. Dinaz enjoys, and is actively involved in, the training and supervision of medical students and junior doctors.

Dinaz has a very patient-oriented focus, is passionate about the health of her patients, and truly enjoys her job. She takes great pleasure in the fact that when she operates on a child, the positive outcomes from ENT surgery can make a difference to the health and happiness of the whole whanau.

She also appreciates the frustration waiting times to be seen can cause. Where possible, Dinaz will try to do extra or after-hours clinics to ensure patients are seen in time.

Dinaz is a member of the New Zealand Society of Otolaryngology Head & Neck Society, a member of The Royal Australasian College of Surgeons, and has vocational registration in Otolaryngology with the Medical Council of New Zealand.

In her spare time, when she is not tramping with her family, Dinaz enjoys yoga, swimming, and always makes time for meditation. She relishes making the most of the outdoors lifestyle and natural beauty of the Bay of Plenty.
