About
Brad is a surgeon who has specifically trained in minimally invasive surgery. He has certification and training from the UK and USA in advanced laparoscopic surgery and robotic surgery. Brad is the only gynaecologist practising in Tauranga who provides a truly laparoscopic approach to hysterectomy and endometriosis.
Minimally invasive surgery has been proven to be the safest way to have an operation. It is also the least painful, associated with the quickest recovery, and involves minimal scarring.
Brad received his basic medical training in South Africa. After completing his degree he emigrated to the UK with the aim of specialising in gynaecological surgery.
Motivated by his strong preference for minimally invasive surgery, Brad received training under the stewardship of Dr Kevin Cooper. Dr Cooper is recognised as one of Scotland’s foremost laparoscopic surgeons, and his unit has been recognised as one of the few in the UK able to train laparoscopic surgeons to the highest level.
Brad is part of the Virtuoso team in Tauranga, comprising surgeons who choose to use the latest surgical techniques and technology to deliver the safest and most effective surgical treatment. He is the only practising gynaecological robotic surgeon in New Zealand.
While his passion is helping patients with endometriosis, problematic periods and urinary incontinence, Brad also provides services that relate to prolapse, abnormal smears and pelvic pain. He works for Fertility Associates and provides consultations for patients with fertility problems.
Brad lives in Tauranga with his wife Jemma and their daughter, Isla. He enjoys running and has just completed his first half-marathon.
